It is very important to level up as quick as possible to level 20 for the following reasons:
1. Higher level CP Pokemon will appear according to your trainer level. Let's assume you really want to have a usable and pretty rare Pokemon like Snorlax or you are ready to drive down to the nearest dratini's nest to hunt dratini. You have higher chance to get Pokemon that are above CP1000 in the wild when you are at a higher level. Caught this snorlax when i am at Level 19 and another fellow trainer got a CP50 snorlax at Level 8.
2. It's an equal and rather competitive playing field out there in SG Pokemon World, like in the real world (erhm minus the spoofer part where they are level 30 in the first day the game release in the first day) The general trainer level is 20 plus on the Day 8 i blog as we speak, (17 without using lucky eggs) and gym are harder to conquer.
